Angelica Zamer

Angelica Zamer built her reputation at T. Kerr Property Group as Lead Transaction Coordinator, where her gift for details and systems kept every transaction moving seamlessly behind the scenes. As she immersed herself in the team's systems, she kept spotting the same thing she'd once done in the classroom: better processes waiting to be built, not just followed. That instinct is what led to her current role as Systems & Efficiency Partner, where she now applies that same analytical, detail-driven mindset at a higher level, revising and building the systems that let the whole team run efficiently, independently, and at scale.

From Teaching to Coding to Real Estate

Born and raised in Houston, Angelica was the first in her family to move away for college. Talk about an experience! She attended the University of Texas at Austin and became a Dual Language teacher in Round Rock ISD, where she taught first, second, and fourth grade. As a teacher, Angelica took a very active interest in the process. She worked directly with the district to help design lesson plans for district-wide use, and was always on the lookout for better ways to achieve educational goals and improve teaching systems.

While working on a technology initiative for the district, she was introduced to the world of code, and eventually, a career switch. After leaving teaching, she returned to the University of Texas and received a certification in coding. She moved from teaching to freelance coding projects for clients. Her inner geek awakened, Angelica decided to pursue a full-time career in programming, that is, until a worldwide pandemic interfered. Like many other parents, she found herself caring for her toddlers and navigating the waters of life in a COVID-19 world.

Silver Linings and Serendipity

Once she was ready to get back into the workforce, the stars aligned. Tanya Kerr, a long-time friend and her former instructional coach and then assistant principal, mentioned that she'd excel at transaction coordinating.

In her role, Angelica does what comes naturally: analytical thinking, system management, and detail dominance. She applies big-picture thinking to the minutiae of each transaction to ensure everything aligns as it should. She delights in flexing her problem-solving strengths to improve processes, and she excels at communicating with all parties in a timely and friendly manner.

When Angelica isn't immersed in real estate transaction details, she enjoys life with her husband, Kamal, and their two children, César and Camila. She loves to experience life through their lens: cooking, gardening, learning to tolerate water parks and amusement parks, and leaning into the simple things, like a make-shift picnic in the backyard. When traveling, she and Kamal love to eat their way through a city while experiencing the attractions locals love. If she isn't with her kids or Kamal, you can find her either listening to an audiobook or reading one while nestled in her comfy chair, lamp on, coffee in hand.
