Leander anchors the north end of Austin's MetroRail line and the western edge of Williamson County's strongest growth corridor. The MetroRail station puts downtown Austin about 50 minutes away by train, which is a rare option in the metro and one of Leander's quietest selling points.

Leander has grown from a small ranching community into one of the largest and most desirable suburbs north of Austin. Master-planned neighborhoods like Crystal Falls, Travisso, Mason Hills, Larkspur, and Block House Creek define much of the residential landscape, with home prices and styles ranging from first-time-buyer-friendly to Hill Country luxury at higher elevations.
